Huawei E5730 – 42Mbps MiFi Router with LAN Connector

If you had read our blogs about introducing the Huawei E5730, you may get to know some features of Huawei E5730. The new Huawei E5730 MiFi router is not an ordinary mobile hotspot: the device has a LAN port and a 5200 mAh battery besides mobile hotspots. On one hand, the E5730s hotspot can thus be used for devices that do not have Wi-Fi feature, on the other hand users have also a mobile battery ("Power Bank") the same time. Then users can charge the smartphones, tablets when the power is around off.  However, the small pocket router Huawei E5730 is not perfect, because it can’t support the LTE frequency bands.

DC-HSPA+ up to 42 Mbit/s

Inside the Huawei E5730, a Huawei subsidiary HiSilicon modem is inserted, which allows speeds of up to 42.2 Mbit/s in the downlink and 5.76 Mbit/s in the uplink. However, these are gross data rates, the real values can’t reach this speeds. Under a little congested UMTS cell, the top speed may achieve about 30Mbit/s. Another important feature of Huawei E5730 is that a maximum of 10 wireless devices to the router can be connected simultaneously. Since UMTS is supported only on the frequency bands around 900 and 2100 megahertz, you’d better to use the Huawei E5730 in Europe, even though it can use in other areas, but usually limited in America. What’s more, the slow quad-band GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) is supported. Unfortunately, unlike the predecessors Huawei E587 and E5756, there is no connector for an external antenna in Huawei E5730, so the transmission power cannot be improved if the signal is weak.

A special feature of the Huawei E5730 provides a LAN and a USB port.

Easy charging other devices

Another special feature is the full-size USB port on the side of the Huawei E5730 next to the LAN port. This allows easy charging of other devices such as smart phones via the integrated 5200 mAh battery in the E5730.The output is 5V/2A, so that almost all mobile companions should be easily charged. Of course you can use hotspot runtime for much longer time based on the strong battery in Huawei E5730, because with a fully charged, Huawei E5730s can provides an operating time of at least 16 hours according to the manufacturer!

The operation of Huawei E5730 is via a web interface in the browser, which is connected to the router. Alternatively, an administration via Huawei Mobile WiFi app is also possible; this program is available for all devices with Apple iOS or Google Android operating system. The Huawei E5730 is now available in the color white and gold commercially without SIM lock on www.4gltemall.com . If you feel interested in this new mobile pocket router, welcome to check more details of it.

Huawei E3272 – New LTE Category 4 USB Stick

USB surfsticks are increasingly displaced by mobile hotspots with battery, but Huawei brings an LTE stick E3272 again recently on the market. The Huawei E3272 is held in the "stick form factor", the USB port is so rigid and not like the previous model Huawei E3276 swiveling ("rotator form factor"). The maximum speed is 150 Mbit/s downlink and 50 Mbit/s in the uplink, which corresponds to LTE category 4 like previous LTE surf sticks Huawei E3272. With dimensions of 93.3 mm x 30 mm x 13.3 mm and weighing 35 grams, Huawei E3272 is much easier to take in pocket or bag.

Somebody say Huawei E3272 is on the HiLink function, which allows the operation of the surfsticks with no software. When you first plugged into the PC, only some drivers are installed, we found the mobile partner is still available in this stick. In most cased, no more setup is needed before connection, Huawei promises a connection in just a few seconds after plugging in the modem.

Good technical equipment

Like most other data devices in use, Huawei E3272 is also with a HiSilicon modem chipset. This allows not only LTE Category 4, UMTS with DC-HSPA+ (up to 42.2 Mbit/s in the downlink), but also GSM & EDGE data transmission. The supported frequency bands are common deployed worldwide, so we are glad to note that Huawei E3272 can use worldwide:

  • LTE: 800/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz
  • UMTS: 900/2100 MHz
  • GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

The USB port is protected by a cap, unfortunately this is not secured with a ribbon on the stick as you would know from the Vodafone K5150 LTE Stick. Two connectors for external antennas (2 × 2 MIMO) are located on the sides of E3272 body, as well as a slot for MicroSD memory cards is available, so you can use the Huawei E3272 LTE stick as a storage media. The system requirements are relatively low, so you can E3272 with Windows system from XP (Service Pack 3), Windows Vista (Service Pack 1), to Windows 7 or Windows 8, alternatively you can of course also use with MAC OS, here must be at least OS X to be installed in version 10.6 or higher.

Availability

The Huawei E3272 LTE stick is available in stores 4gltemall.com now, without a contract. With a slim body and good functions, we recommend Huawei E3272 if you want to enjoy the LTE Download link speed to 150Mbps.

Huawei E5330 – New Cheap 3G Mobile WiFi Hotspot

As a new mobile WiFi hotspot ('MiFi router ") on the market, Huawei E5330 is available since a few weeks ago. With a retail price of around 90USD, the E5330 is one of the best devices in this type. As the successor to Huawei E5220, Huawei E5330 can offer better performance. The Huawei E5330 is available in black and white colors and offers up to 10 wireless devices easy access to the mobile Internet. The maximum speed is 21.6 Mbit/s. During use on the HSPA+/UMTS network, the real speed would be possibly achieved up to 16 Mbit/s. In the following, we present you more detail about the new budget pocket WiFi Huawei E5330.

Small dimensions and replaceable battery

Comparing with the predecessor, the Huawei E5330 is quite small with size of 92.8 x 60 x 14.4 millimeters, making it one of the most compact UMTS mobile hotspots. On the front, you will find 5 LEDs that light up in green and display the operating status of wireless, network strength and battery. It also indicates whether a new message has arrived and of course whether the Huawei E5330 is enabled. If you would expect a display like more expensive hotspots such as the Huawei E5372, it’s a picty that E5330 don’t have this feature. This also makes E5330 in low production cost and good sale price.

With the 1500 mAh large battery, Huawei E5330 hotspot is intended to create an operating time of about 6 hours. The standby time is 300 hours. The battery is easily replaceable for the user, so you also can take more battery when no charger is available on longer trips.

The back of the Huawei E5330 can be changed and removed the battery.

HSPA+ with up to 21.6 Mbit/s

Here now you can see the good price on 4gltemall.com , it’s SIM unlocked without any contract. The Huawei E5330 is very convenient; however, it does not support the latest mobile technologies, such as LTE, DC-HSPA+. Thus, a maximum of 21.6 Mbit/s could be reached via HSPA+, while some customer required the double speed of 42mbps, even more 100mbps on LTE networks.

The connection to the E5330 terminals via Wi-Fi, the integrated radio module in the Huawei E5330 transmits in the 2.4 GHz band (Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n) and achieved gross data rates of up to 72 Mbit/s. Since only the frequency bands around 900 and 2100 MHz are supported in UMTS mode, the Huawei E5330 is suitable for use mainly in Europe and Asia. If you need the comfort features such as a connector for an external antenna for improved reception, or a MicroSD slot to share files, you have to forget the Huawei E5330. Huawei E5330 has no antenna connector and SD slot. The establishment and operation, either directly on the browser via the web interface or via the Huawei Mobile WiFi app, which is available for Android and iOS.

The Huawei E5330 is available now without a contract and without lock in the trade, next to the router there is a USB charger, a USB cable and a Quick Start Guide included.

HTC One (M8) 4G Smartphone

The HTC one (M8) is the 2014 flagship Smartphone from HTC and available since a few days in the trade. It is a direct competitor of the Samsung Galaxy S5, which also comes in these days on the market. HTC One (M8) continue to focus on camera and sound, but also the housing sets standards and is absolutely unique in the Android area. I was already able to test the device, though I have not only tried the heavily advertised multimedia features, but tested the device on the basic functions such as calling and receiving power back.

High Quality Aluminum Body

The HTC one (M8) is packed in a narrow box, with the Smartphone there is still a power adapter (Output: 5V, 1.5 A), a USB to microUSB cable and an in-ear headset. A special feature is the also supplied rubber sleeve, which makes the Smartphone a very classy look and protects the device against scratches and damage. For most users, the shell should be quite sufficient, so that the usual purchase eliminates a separate bag. Furthermore, there is of course a quick start guide and a warranty Note, also a small needle is included, with which you can detach the slide for the sim card type 4 FF (nano-SIM) from the device.

If you hold the HTC one (M8) for the first time in hand, you will be surprised directly from the extremely high-quality body. HTC has managed to improve the body materials again significantly compared to its predecessors; the device is now completely out of metal, only the speaker covers and cutouts for the antennas are still made of plastic. The HTC one (M8) is narrower at the sides and is clearly rounded, so the enormous dimensions is still quite good in the hand. One-hand operation is a problem in the Apple iPhone 5s, but in the One (M8) it’s possible under any circumstances. The display with 5 inch (12.7 cm) on the diagonal and is significantly larger than the iPhone, which offers advantages especially in multimedia features. HTC offers the One (M8) in the colors of metallic gray, silver and gold, the silver and gold have a matte case while metal gray offers brushed steel.

On the front you will find no keys on the HTC One (M8). These are shown on the display if they are needed. Above and below the display is one loudspeaker. There is also 5 megapixel LED front camera, which can also record 1080p Full HD videos. User might complain the LED that it flashes a maximum of 5 minutes, if there is a way to set this function it would be useful.

On the right side, HTC has the volume rocker attached, which is also made of metal and has a good pressure point. Above this is the slot for the microSD memory card, 16 GB of internal memory can be extended on request by up to 128 GB. On the left side there are no buttons, only the SIM slot is located. Bottom of the device is the 3.5 mm jack and the microUSB connector. On the back center, we can see the HTC logo with the main camera of a resolution of 4 megapixels (Ultra pixel camera, as HTC calls it). The real peculiarity is to be found on the main camera: a second lens ("duo-camera") measures the distance to the objects and allows you to change the focus in the image again in the supplement. For shooting in the dark, a dual-LED flash is built in, where a yellow LED is next to a white LED, just like Apple iPhone 5S, so the colors look more natural in the photo.

Display, camera and speakers

The display was again increased larger compared to its predecessor HTC One (M7) and now measures 5 inches in diagonal. The high resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), provides a very sharp display, colors look very natural. The brightness of the display is sufficient to use the device well in the sun can. A special feature is the so-called "Motion Launch gestures". They allow unlocking the HTC One (M8) even when the display is off. It sweeps around from bottom to top, so you end up immediately on the home screen. With a double-tap to get to the lock screen and can see missed calls or messages. Since the power button is placed on top of the device and with one hand is difficult to achieve, the gestures are a really convenient feature after you get the phone in hand.

The buttons are now displayed in the display.

The camera was able to convince only partially in the test. To see the photos in good light and sunshine really excellent, but the low resolution of only 4 megapixels (16:9) hardly allows subsequent "zoom" in the image. When shooting at dusk or in the dark the HTC one (M8) can also satisfying: here are many details in the pictures visible, the photos look quite natural. Something is not good on the macro mode: compared to other smart phones such as theSamsung Galaxy S4 , the feature cannot go particularly close to you, as well as many of the details are presented not as sharp as usual from other cameras. Overall, the camera in the HTC One (M8) is thus indeed not bad; on the contrary, they can meet the high expectations in my opinion. The large-advertised "UFocus" function with the second camera lens is actually quite hidden and selecting "Edit" from the menu only to find. The focus can be reset if you wish, which also works quite well.

The HTC speaker is also very good to offer not only a decent volume, but also a rich sound for a smartphone. But do not just listen to music is a pleasure, even hear phone calls as the hands-free function is very well. Software The HTC One (M8) Android comes in version 4.4.2. As a user interface, HTC Sense 6.0 is pre-installed. With 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, HTC M8 works extremely fast and reliable, in the test we were unable to find any negative points.

Reception & Battery

The modem in the HTC One M8 supports GSM/EDGE (up to 384 kbit/s), UMTS with DC-HSPA+ (up to 42.2 Mbit/s) and LTE (Category 4, up to 150 Mbps/s). It can also works with LTE frequency bands 800/900/1800/2600 megahertz, so all the bands that are used in Europe are supported. In addition, the wireless technologies Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and GPS / GLONASS are available. The reception quality of HTC One M8 from Germany Telekom is very good. In area of WLAN, the HTC one (M8) is impressive: it offers good reception and transmits data often much further away from the base station, than comparable devices.

Overall, one can say that the engineers have done an excellent job on the HTC One (M8) and in the test consistently good reception values were achieved. The data rates were correspondingly good. Regarding the call quality, the smart phone also plays with the very top, at least when the phone call with HD voice is conducted. In the HTC One (M8), 2600 mAh battery is built-in. Since the device supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology, fast charging is possible with a matching power supply. Unfortunately, the included power supply but does not support the technology. The battery life is about one day in heavy use, for normal use it should also be feasible two days. However, if the camera is often used and the integrated step counter function is enabled, then you should recharge the HTC one (M8) every day.

Conclusion

HTC One (M8) is a very good smartphone on the market. The case studied in its same, the details of how the gesture control a lot of fun and the basics such as reception and voice quality are also right for Android segment. Only the camera cannot keep quite what HTC promises. The HTC one (M8) is now available with or without a contract in the site www.4gltemall.com . The retail price is without a contract and buy it now have special gift for the orders.

Vodafone New 4G LTE Router B3000 Available In April

There have been rumors and speculation for long time that Vodafone and Telekom will be launching the next generation LTE router in the coming months. From April, Vodafone introduces new LTE Router B3000, the successor to the B2000. On the back label of the Vodafone B3000, it indicates that this is another new Huawei router.

It’s from the factory model Huawei B593s-22. The internal LTE modem (of Hisilicon) even supports LTE category 4 (Cat4). Thus stationary data transfer rates of up to 150 Mbit per second can be achieved. However, due to the network coverage, LTE Cat4 is not available in all the cities. It’s now only available in some specific center cities which requires large data transmission. Probably later this year, Vodafone will expand coverage of all cities with CAT4 that designate at least 100,000 inhabitants.

Otherwise, there are few significant differences compared to the previous models. The B3000 back has 4 LAN ports and two RJ11 connectors for telephone via VOIP. In addition, a USB port is available for printer or host sharing and two SMA sockets for special LTE antennas.

The router is DLNA enabled. So how about the 4G compatibility? At this point, there are fortunately no complaints. All popular bands are supported in Europe, including LTE 800, 1800 , 2100 and 2600MHz. Even LTE on 900 MHz can be supported by the B3000 theoretically. Per the original factory model Huawei B593s-22, it can also support the 4G TD-LTE frequency 2600MHz. Availability and costs Vodafone plans, which claims to introduce the B3000 in April. The surcharge for the business customer data tariffs is unique around 10 €. For private customers pay about 50 euros once.

The B3000 router is already available as Huawei B593s-22 without a contract in the store 4gltemall.com . Tip: Huawei B593s-22 could fully replace Vodafone B3000 because it has the full functions as designed and no customization from operator.

Vodafone B3000 LTE Category 4 WiFi Router

The Vodafone B3000 LTE Router is available in stores now. The device is the successor to the Vodafone B2000 , which came on the market in spring 2012. The highlight of B3000 is the support for LTE with up to 150 MBit/s in the downlink and 50 Mbit/s in the uplink (LTE Category 4), in addition, the router can be used for calls via VoIP. The design is largely identical to its predecessor, and also the target group has not changed: Vodafone offers the B3000 primarily business customers.

LTE Category 4 and VoIP

On the back and on the sides of Vodafone B3000, we can find all sorts of connections. The four LAN ports connect to network-enabled devices and two RJ11 connectors allow the connection of analog phones. Furthermore, two USB connections for the integration of a printer or USB storage device available and under a cover there are two connectors for external antennas (type: SMA). For example, the LTE reception quality can be improved by the LTE MIMO antenna .

On the front, various LEDs indicate the operating status. The user can see at a glance, for example, the signal strength and network technology here. The Vodafone B3000 LTE router is manufactured by Huawei and it carries on the model number of Huawei B593s-22. Besides LTE Category 4, the modem allows UMTS including DC-HSPA+ (up to 42.2 Mbit/s) and of course GSM/EDGE. The supported frequency bands include the 800 MHz and 2600 MHz for LTE used by Vodafone, if there are more bands are supported, it is not clear from the documents at our disposal. But we are sure that the original model Huawei B593S-22 would support the LTE FDD 800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz & TDD 2600MHz. The WLAN module operates at 2.4 GHz and supports up to 32 simultaneously connected Wi-Fi devices. According to the manufacturer Huawei, the power consumption of Vodafone B3000 is under 12 watts.

Price and Availability

According to Vodafone, the B3000 LTE Router available until early April in the Vodafone online shop as well as in retail stores(www.4gltemall.com for unlocked version). However, some traders already now offer the B3000 with prices. But it’s better to get unlocked one before purchasing, the unlocked one would use with any other operators besides Vodafone.

Telekom Speed Stick LTE IV Comes From Alcatel W800

The Germany operator Telekom offers a new LTE surf stick- Speed Stick LTE IV from November of 2013. Since in May, a high-end model Speed Stick LTE III was introduced by Huawei, then the new model Speed Stick LTE IV comes from TCT Mobile (Alcatel), which is the same manufacturer as the Speed Stick II LTE. The special feature: a built-in Wi-Fi module will support up to 10 other devices to access internet wirelessly with an Internet connection.

Alcatel W800 LTE WiFi Dongle

The Telekom Speed Stick LTE IV is based on the Alcatel W800, which we have recently been introduced. The chipset is a Qualcomm MDM9215 modem, which supports DC-HSPA+ and GSM/EDGE/UMTS is also backward. As a LTE category 3 WiFi dongle, Telekom Speed stick LTE IV supports up to 100 Mbit/s downstream and 50 Mbit/s for upload. The working LTE frequency bands at 800, 1800 or 2600 megahertz according to their location used. The full LTE speed cannot be reached, in real network environment, the WLAN module can only reaches around 75 MBit/s for downlink, and uplink for wireless connection probably no more than about 30 Mbit/s are available.

Apart from the slot for standard mini-SIM cards, the manufacturer TCT Mobile has also integrates a slot for MicroSD cards supporting up to 32 GB storage. No connectors for an external antenna are available in this dongle. With about 39 grams, Telekom Speed Stick LTE IV is quite easy to take in hand or pocket, the dimensions of 89.0 x 27.5 x 14.0 mm are similar to those of other LTE surf sticks.   Speed Stick LTE models at a glance The Speed Stick LTE IV is now already the fourth LTE Surfstick available at Germany Telekom, and we have summarized the models in a small table below:

Model Manufacturer & Model LTE Category Speed
Speed Stick LTE Huawei E398 Category 3 100 Mbit/s
Speed Stick II LTE Alcatel L100V Category 3 100 Mbit/s
Speed Stick LTE III Huawei E3276 Category 4 150 Mbit/s
Speed Stick LTE IV Alcatel W800 Category 3 100 Mbit/s

The Telekom Speed Stick LTE first generation is only sporadically available through online shops, Telekom no longer sells this device now. As we can see in the table, the name does not necessarily correspond to the quality and the speed of the modem. Thus, the current top model is clearly the Speed Stick LTE III (Huawei E3276) in the 4 models; many users would even classify the first Speed Stick LTE (Huawei E398) best model than the previous, since the reception is very good. Even with the equipment, there are some major differences Between Alcatel and Huawei Speed Stick models, for example, connections for an external antenna, which is not available in Alcatel Sticks.

Huawei E8278 E8278S-602 Open Box and Review

Today, we get the 4G LTE Cat4 Wi-Fi dongle Huawei E8278. Since the release day, it has been for a whole year that we get it. The model we get is Huawei E8278s-602, which is for Australia operator Telstra.

Packed in customized box from Telstra, Huawei E8278 is in the center box with a power adapter. There is a USB port in the adaper, which can help Huawei E8278 to get power supply directly, not from desktop or laptop. The USB is rotatable for 180 degree and hidden in the body of the modem.

As we introduced before, Huawei E8278 looks like a 4G USB Modem, but actually it is a WiFi hotspot through which multiple terminals can access internet in high speed. E8278 is a LTE category 4 UE, which mean the maximum downlink speed could reach 150mbps. The official saying about Huawei E8278s-602 is that it could support 4G LTE FDD 800/900/1800/2600MHz & TDD 2600MHz.

And the 3G DC-HSPA+ network support is backward. E8278 supports 3G UMTS Band 850/900/1900/2100MHz. The Huawei E8278 we get is SIM card unlocked. So if you get an unlocked E8278, you can take it around the world for travel. The Huawei E8278 would work with most operators over the world. Even on 3G network, the maximum download speed could reach amazing 42Mbps.

On the body side, there are two external antenna connectors for external high gain antennas. One connector is with the MircoSD card slot. They are covered by a plastic cap. There is Signal slogan on the cap. The external antenna connector socket is TS-9. User can also get the 4G Antenna from 4gltemall.com . The Huawei E8278 4G Antenna has two connectors (TS-9 jack) and covers almost all the 4G Frequency bands. The antenna is small and easy to take in bag, just like Huawei e8278. Users don’t need to worry about the week network coverage if far from the center city.

What’s more, the Huawei E8278 can support up to 10 WiFi users to share the wireless network and access internet simultaneously. With the ability of high speed data transmission, you don’t need worry about the slow speed when sharing the WiFi. It’s a pity that there is no battery included, otherwise, it would be a mobile pocket router. But Huawei E8278 is still a good mobile WiFi dongle worthy to have as a WiFi hotspot when there is power supply.
