Netgear AirCard AC810S Mobile Hotspot

The Netgear AirCard AC810S Mobile Hotspot LTE is the first portable routers for LTE speeds up to 600 Mbit/s in the downlink. These high data rates are achieved by the use of LTE-Advanced category 11 triple Carrier aggregation, delivering up to 60 MHz of usable frequency spectrum. In Europe, the Netgear AC810S is not yet available. But it’s already available for network operator Sprint in USA and Telstra in Australia(named Telstra WiFi 4G Advanced III). At the MWC 2016 in Barcelona, there was the opportunity to test the mobile hotspot, we can check more details and many photos from the device. The Aircard 810s could achieve up to 600 Mbit/s in the downlink - no other mobile LTE hotspot on the market could reach this speed currently. Depending on the configuration, the device can be operated at different speeds in LTE Cat11 mode or LTE mode CAT9. As we introduced before, the routers with LTE Cat6 (up to 300 Mbit/s download) is the fastest you could get (eg Netgear AirCard 790S ). This is the situation before Netgear Aircard 810s comes out. However, the grid operators in Germany, Austria and Switzerland still do not allow higher speeds than 300 Mbit/s and can be upgraded on LTE CAT9 or LTE Cat11 in the course of 2016.   Upon request, the Netgear AirCard 810S Hotspot can be connect to an external antenna and LTE to improved for receiving data. The antenna connectors are on the side of the unit, which can be protected with a small cover when not in use. The power button is positioned On top of the router, so that the AC810S is switched on and off and the display on or off. If you want to buy an external antenna for Netgear Aircard 810s, you can check below the indoor and outdoor antenna:   Indoor antenna for Netgear Aircard 810s: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-antenna-two-ts-9-connector.html     Outdoor Antenna for Netgear Aircard 810s: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-lte-outdoor-antenna-2-x-ts-9-connectors.html The Netgear AirCard 810S Hotspot battery allows an operating time of up to 11 hours in active mode or up to 260 hours in standby mode. The back can be taken off and the battery is replaceable easily by the user, so you can buy a second or third battery if required and travel several days without power supply. Furthermore there is the possibility to load external devices such as smartphones. Thus Netgear AC810S can be used as a so-called "Power Bank". The operation and configuration could be done via a large color touch screen on the front and two buttons on the side of the display. The entry is very fluid and intuitive, the menu is almost self-explanatory. The operation via a smartphone app is possible, then user does not need the Netgear AirCard 810S Hotspot in hand or take the briefcase, if you want to make an adjustment. What’s more, the fast internet connection also arrives at the terminals, the Netgear Aircard AC810S supports WLAN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Up to 15 devices can be connected to the router simultaneously. Before power on, a micro-SIM is required, the unit has no SIM lock and can be used with any provider.   The other vendors such as Huawei & ZTE haven’t released their LTE Cat11 mobile hotspots. So the netgear Aircard 810s would be the world’s first and fastest 4G Pocket WiFi router. Based the reliable 4G router and future-proof technology, Aircard 810s would be a great gadget for technology geeks!

ZyXEL LTE4506 LTE Cat6 Router

ZyXEL has introduced a new LTE Advanced Cat6 router LTE4506 for stationary use. Upgraded from LTE Cat4 technology, the LTE4506 router allows speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s in the downlink and up to 50 Mbit/s in the uplink via the LTE network and uses its Carrier Aggregation technology, which has been specified in 3GPP Release 10 and in LTE category. 6. The high data rates could also be achieved at the terminals, because the ZyXEL LTE4506 has WLAN ac and Gigabit Ethernet. LTE router with latest modem Following the Huawei E5186 router, which is available as Telekom Speedbox LTE III , the ZyXEL LTE4506 is the only LTE Cat6 router that has been officially announced for the German market. While there are now a number of mobile wireless routers supporting the LTE Cat6 battery and for stationary use, they are very similar in specifications and features. The ZyXEL LTE4506 router supports FDD-LTE bands at 1,3,7,8 and 20 and TDD LTE band 38 and band 40. The relevant frequency ranges 800, 1800 and 2600 MHz for Germany, Austria and Switzerland are thus supported and may also are bundled via carrier aggregation, so that up to 40 MHz frequency spectrum can be used in the downstream. WLAN and Gigabit Ethernet The body of ZyXEL LTE4506 looks like Huawei E5180 LTE Cube, but it’s a LTE wireless router. The LTE4506 LTE Router can be powered wirelessly via Dual Band WLAN 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac of up to 300 Mbit/s are supported in parallel, according to ZyXEL. Up to two wireless networks can be built at the same time, if there is also a guest-Fi function, however, is still unclear. Up to 32 devices can be simultaneously connected to the router. If necessary, you can also connect a terminal such as a desktop computer or a switch via the network cable to the RJ45 Gigabit LAN port of the ZyXEL LTE4506. The ZyXEL LTE4506 router is powered by a classic MicroUSB connector, there is no built-in battery available in the LTE router. ZyXEL offers the WAH7706 to a similarly equipped mobile WiFi hotspot with LTE Cat6.   Someone may want to change their 3G Routers to 4G LTE router such as ZyXEL LTE4506, however, the main problem is that ZyXEL supply the 4G Routers mainly for European network providers. If you are located in Asia, you may have trouble to get one. Thus, the Huawei E5186 is easier to get.

Alcatel Y900 LTE Router Review

Last year, Huawei was the only manufacturer that provided routers for LTE Advanced category 6 with download speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s offered in Europe. The Chinese company TCT Mobile has now also introduced the Alcatel Y900 hotspot LTE Cat6 modem on the market and provides this even considerably cheaper than the comparable Huawei E5786 router.  Today we will have a review about the new Alcatel Y900 4G Mobile hotspot.

Small in Pocket Size

The Alcatel Y900 LTE Hotspot is comparatively small and compact and weighs only 88 grams including the battery, considerably less than current smartphones. The body is made entirely of plastic, and is possible to remove the back to insert the battery, SIM card and a memory card. The Alcatel Y900 doesn’t have a display, instead, decorated with large LED which strips the front. The used mobile communications technology (2G, 3G, 4G) is signaled with lateral LEDs. In the test, the LED display made a good figure, with displaying consumed data volume, battery status and time spent online.

Fast Internet over LTE Cat6

The modem in Alcatel Y900 Hotspot supports speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s downstream and up to 50 Mbit/s upload speeds on the 4G mobile network. The LTE Advanced Cat6 has been activated at some locations in Europe and the tariff also allows these high speeds. Of course, the router is also backwards compatible with the previous LTE Stages Cat3 and Cat4, also of course, UMTS (3G) and GSM (2G) are supported. In the test under Telekom network, the speeds of almost 200 Mbit/s downstream and 50 Mbit/s in the upload can be achieved, which is very good compared with similar devices, even if the technical maximum speed was not reached initially. Which is important for many applications is latency when tested between 20 and 35 milliseconds in the LTE network of Telefónica O2. The reception was good, even with a weak signal, a speedy web surfing was still possible. Unfortunately, Alcatel Y900 has no external antenna to connect.

Dual Band WLAN and USB 3.0

For a mobile LTE router, not only a current and receiving strong Modem is important, but also a good Wi-Fi module and a fast USB or LAN connection, so devices such as computers, notebooks and tablets can also use the full internet speed of the modem. The Alcatel Y900 is well positioned here. The WLAN module works on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (dual-band WLAN) and even supports the current and very fast 802.11ac standard. If you want to use the router to a computer without a WLAN, you benefit from the fast USB 3.0 interface - A relevant cable is already included.

Unfortunately the internet is not encrypted, so you can connect without a password to the network. As a user you should quickly assigned a unique password so that foreign users do not get access to the WLAN of Alcatel Y900.

Operation via browser or via app

The configuration of the Alcatel Y900 could be done either in a browser via the web interface or via an app for smartphones and tablets. Supplied with a small piece of paper, the QR codes for easy installation of the app is provided for an Android or iOS device. Both the app and the web interface in the browser are attractively designed and very easy to use. In addition to common settings for wireless connection, you can also receive and send text messages and access the data on the memory card. In the test, both the smartphone application and web interface worked always reliable and fast.

Approximately 5 hours of battery life

The Alcatel Y900 battery has a capacity of 1,800 mAh and is very easy replaceable by the user, ie you can buy extra batteries and thus survive even during long trips without external power supply if required. The operating time of the test was constant subjection to the LTE network in about 5 hours. According to Alcatel, there is a much more powerful battery with 3,600 mAh for the Y900 4G Router, thus a useful life of about 10 hours would be possible. But the version with high battery capacity is not yet available.

Conclusion for Alcatel Y900 Anyone looking for a fast and secure future LTE hotspot, can safely pick up the Alcatel Link Y900.The small router convinced with good data rates in the LTE network and a fast dual-band wireless. The Alcatel Y900 is optionally available in black or in white, and works with all SIM cards, a SIM lock or NET-Lock does not exist. Directly from the network operator with the contract, you can buy the Alcatel Y900 without a contract from www.4gltemall.com. An alternative more expensive model is Huawei E5786 hotspot, which provides a small display, a more powerful battery and connections for an external antenna compared to Alcatel Y900.

Huawei Mate S 4G LTE Smartphone Review

Huawei was previously known primarily as a manufacturer of cheap Android smartphones, routers, surf sticks and other network equipment. By Mate S, the manufacturer would now definitely in the premium smartphone segment. A high-quality metal case, a very good quality and innovative software features to the customer to purchase more.

High-quality metal body

Huawei provides the Mate S in the colors gray and champagne and delivers it in a high-quality acting cardboard box. The package includes a protective case, a power supply, a USB charging cable and a headset. The case protects the device very well and allowed the display of information through a small window with the front closed. Huawei did everything right for the body: It not only looks extremely good, it feels also very well and leaves a very high-quality impression. The entire back is made of metal, at the sides, the device is flat, so it is still neatly in your hand in spite of its enormous size. The entire front is covered with a laterally rounded glass, particularly in the use of swipe gestures is very pleasant. Next to the 13-megapixel camera, a fingerprint reader can be found, which is truly outstanding: The detection rate is very good and you can also use the sensor for gesture control to approximately scroll through galleries.

Fast processor and good LTE Modem

The Huawei Mate S we tested is a single-SIM version with combined MicroSD slot, the integrated memory of 32 GB and can therefore be expanded with a memory card. In other markets, there is also a dual-SIM version of the Huawei Mate S. The single-SIM version must be equipped with a nano-SIM card. The modem achieved up to 150 Mbit/s on LTE network, but may in the settings " Carrier Aggregation "so LTE Advanced CAT6, are activated. This speeds up to 300 megabits per second in the downlink and 50 Mbit/s in the uplink are then possible with the Huawei Mate S. Of course, UMTS with up to 42.2 Mbit/s and GSM are supported together with EDGE. A bit of a shame: The Huawei Mate S can only use the 2.4 GHz frequency range at in the current WLAN standard AC, 5GHz is not supported. Given the high price that is incomprehensible, because other manufacturers already obstruct significantly cheaper smartphones with dual-band WLAN.   The processor in Mate S comes from Huawei subsidiary HiSilicon and has eight cores, each with up to 2.2 GHz clock rate. Along with the Android operating system and the user interface EMUI, the unit was very quick in the test and allowed a smooth operation. A special feature is the absence of a separate app menu, all apps are right on the home screens, so as it is known, for example from the Apple iPhone. For many users, this is certainly a good thing, since it facilitates the operation. Of course you can also install another launcher on the Google Play Store, so that again a separate app menu is available.

Camera with good night mode

The Huawei Mate S has two cameras, one with 13 megapixels on the back and an 8-megapixel on the front. The back camera has an optical image stabilizer, a two-color LED flash and has an aperture of f2.0. The photos were sharp and true color included in the test, particularly convinced night mode with which even in twilight very useful pictures can still be taken. Videos can record Full HD resolution, but Huawei waived 4K video.

Screen with "Knuckle Sense"

The AMOLED display of Huawei Mate S is 5.5 inches tall, has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and leaves a very good impression. In order to stand out from the competition, Huawei Mate S uses some software functions to improve the display. The so-called "Knuckle Sense" function allows you to take screenshots or the launch of Apps means knuckles. That works but not always reliable, sometimes the unit does not recognize the ankle and not performs the desired function. Another interesting feature is "Force touch". Thus, the display should also recognize the pressure with which you press on the screen - something like the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus the 3D Touch technology. Unfortunately Force Touch is installed only in a premium version of Mate S, which is only available at some markets. The function would certainly have been interesting!

Conclusion: High-quality smartphone from Huawei

When Huawei Mate S is a premium smartphone - at least if you look at design, workmanship, materials and price. The technology is high, and LTE modem and processor is convincing with great photos and the speed. But there are also some negative points: WLAN missing in the 5 GHz range and the Knuckle Sense technology, for the operation of the display with the knuckles, does not seem mature. The Huawei Mate S is now available at www.4gltemall.com stores and mobile operators. If you like it, you can buy it.

Huawei B315 4G LTE Router Review

The Huawei B315 is a new LTE router available in Germany since summer 2015. The device has a wide range of functions and has a modern equipment with Gigabit LAN, fast wireless, telephone and of course a good cellular modem. With a comparative price without contract, the Huawei B315 is also relatively cheap to have.

Compact body with many connections

The Huawei B315 is packed in a simple cardboard box and is available in either black or white color. In addition to the router, a power supply with a 1.5 m long connecting cable and a short Ethernet cable (about 0.5 m) is included, and there is of course a printed quick-start guide. If you look at the router in more detail on, it is noticeable that it is trapezoidal in shape: Below the router is a bit thicker and thus has a secure stand on level ground, on the above the width narrows rapidly. All antennas were installed inside, thus there are no ugly antenna stub. On the front, Huawei has installed five LED indicators for the operational status. In addition, a small and discreet manufacturer logo adorns the front. All major ports are placed on the back. There are four RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports, one RJ11 phone connector, a USB 2.0 port and a reset button.  Besides the reset button is the connector for the power supply and two SMA connectors for an external antenna can be found under a cover. The SIM card is set on the side of B315 router, the shaft itself is protected by a cover and is very easily accessible.   The establishment and operation of the Huawei B315 proved very easy. The router works with any SIM card and recognizes the provider automatically. Of course, you can access data later but also adjust manually. After inserting the SIM card, user must connect to the Huawei B315 either via a LAN cable or wirelessly via WLAN. The wireless network is encrypted, and the corresponding password and wireless network name can be found at the bottom of the router.  Both the password and the wireless network name should be changed later to further increase security. If the SIM card has no PIN code, the router will be connected just in a few seconds after plugging the power adapter to the Internet. Otherwise, you must first through the web interface, which is called with the IP address 192.168.1.254, enter the PIN code. All in all, the start made extremely simple and requires no extensive computer knowledge, so the Huawei B315 is recommended for beginners. Huawei B315 LTE CPE

LTE with up to 150 Mbit/s

The Huawei B315 has an integrated cellular modem for 4G/LTE, 3G/UMTS and 2G/GSM, so for all major technologies in Europe. The supported frequency bands allow use with any providers in many other countries in Asia and Middle East. The Huawei B315 router not only supports the important frequency ranges around 800, 1800, and 2600 MHz, but also the 900 and 2100 MHz. The maximum speed could reach up to 150 Mbit/s downstream and 50 Mbit/s upstream ( LTE category 4 ) on LTE network. If only the UMTS network is available or no LTE network available, up to 42.2 Mbit/s downstream and 5.76 Mbit/s upload speeds are possible in the UMTS network with the data accelerator DC-HSPA+ used. As mentioned above, the Huawei B315 also permits connection of an external antenna. In the test with a LTE MIMO antenna, the speed and the stability of the compound could be increased significantly with the internal antenna.

Home network with Gigabit LAN

Besides a fast Internet connection, the Huawei B315 LTE router also offers comprehensive functions for home networking. Thus, up to four devices to be connected via cable to the router. The maximum data transmission (speed) is then up to 1 gigabit, so around 1000 Mbit/s. About WLAN up to 32 devices are also possible at the same, but then the maximum data rate is 300 Mbit/s, well below the level via cable. The USB 2.0 port on the back is not intended for connecting a computer, but can be used for connecting storage devices such as an external hard drive or a USB memory stick. Important to know: The memory should be formatted to FAT32, which often spread external hard drives; NTFS format is not recognized by Huawei B315. In addition, the USB port is suitable for the integration of a printer in the network, this only needs to support the Samba protocol. An HD video on a USB stick connected to the Huawei B315 could be streamed easily to a TV, jerkiness or delays did not exist and the router performance was so good that several devices could be surfing the Internet simultaneously. Huawei B315 Antenna Huawei B315 Antenna

Telephone over cellular

The Huawei B315 can be used as needed for telephone. So you can plug in at the back only an analog telephone with RJ11 connector. The DECT function for connecting wireless phones has been waived by manufacturer Huawei, so that one is forced to use the RJ11 connector. Another drawback: The telephone is only over cellular and Voice over IP (VoIP) is not supported. Many data-rates offer no telephone function or only with very expensive minute rates, so that the phone function on Huawei B315 for most users is likely to be useless.

Conclusion: LTE router with good facilities

Looking at the whole package, the Huawei B315 has a compelling features, easy setup and good performance. In the test, besides the classic functions, the Huawei B315 is well suited for families and households with multiple users. However, If you prefer to LTE router with the latest technology, you may check Huawei E5186 4G Router.
