Huawei E5776s-601 Mobile 4G Router Test

We get the Huawei E5776 new model E5776s-601 and take a test per our schedule. Testing was conducted with firmware version 21.202.19.01.778. Update in semi-automatic mode via the Internet is possible.

Getting Started Like other similar devices, start working with the router is very simple: installing SIM-card (format Mini-SIM), charging the battery or connect the power supply, turn on the power. In a couple of seconds, you can check the status of the connection with the network. If successful, the wireless clients connect to a secure network router using WPS or entering the password. As we know, the Huawei E5776 4G Router could support up to 10 clients.

Connection parameters are set automatically by the cellular provider (at least this is true for most operators). When changing the card, to change anything in the settings is not required. We can find that the network name and password, serial number, MAC and IMEI number are marked at the back of Huawei E5776, but we would still recommend to record this information somewhere just in case or learn to output it to the screen of the router. If you connect the E5776S-601 router to your computer via USB, it can act as a network card and a USB-drive. Normal connection speed network card is 150 Mbit/s, which corresponds to the distance to the cell and network environment Internet around.

Like many modems, Huawei E5776 router has a slot for memory cards microSD. It is difficult to call it a mandatory feature in the scenario of mobile access to the Internet, but it can be useful in some cases. Access to recorded data on the memory card is possible on the web, and local connection via USB. In the first case, the files will be accessible from the browser for all network users, and a set of operations is limited to the following options: download, upload (up to 2 GB), delete a file or folder, create a new directory. If necessary, the administrator can choose one of the directories on the map to the public, as well as to limit the rights to "read only".

Configuring and opportunities In case you need to change the device settings such as the wireless network name or security key, you can do it through the web interface. It is available at www.huaweimobilewifi.com or 192.168.1.1. When entering no password, you can see the connection status, including standard network clients, session statistics on the traffic, the duration of the connection and your phone (if registered in the SIM-card). Administrator of the system can also change the password in the settings.

Comfortable enough, you can work with SMS-messages. So that the user is able to receive newsletters from the operator or activate additional services or services without having to reinstall SIM-card in the smart phone.

Among the settings for connecting, user can setup below the settings: Select the connection mode (automatic or manual), work in roaming network selection (auto, 2G, 3G or 4G), operator selection. It is possible to create or modify an access profile (APN, username and password), and managing PIN-code card. Automatic configuration provides clients integrated server DHCP. In its settings you can change the router's own address and the address range for clients. The "Security" is perhaps the most interesting setting can be considered an indication of translation rules ports. However, the situation with the white» IP-addresses for mobile Internet access today, cannot take for wide use of this function. We also mention the firewall support customizable rules, DMZ, UPnP and SIP ALG.
